My idea of having very small, long or rounded carpets comes from the desire to create an alternative, for our modern homes, to traditional big-sized carpets. Therefore, in a living-room, instead of a big central carpet you can place small carpets of various shapes in order to give importance to a piece of forniture or to a particular part of the room. For instance, small carpets in front of seats or a long one close to a library.
The décor fills the room even though the surface is not entirely covered.
When one designs carpets made in Kathmandu, one thinks of the skilful hands that knot them and of the great mountains we call Roof of the World
